Hope &Victory in a Power Outage
Often we find ourselves in a Spiritual Power Outage… With all the cares of this world (family, work, the Laundry & where you left the car keys when you were rushing to soccer practice) it’s easy to get overwhelmed & and somehow get disconnected from your source of strength… the Joy of the Lord. Being in a state of “disconnect” is like a house with no electricity… Suddenly the world is dark, damp & sometimes cold… With no connection to our Heavenly Father, we can soon become anxious, afraid, or even depressed. We can feel like God isn’t there & sometimes lack the desire to pray… We need our lights turned back on…
But I’d like to offer a prescription for times when you experience this spiritual attack… A little light in a dark world… Keep this little prayer handy… Pray it daily… Like a flashlight, it will help you find your way through the darkness so you can endure until the Lord revives your soul & you can again experience His Goodness… Guaranteed… !!!
“Oh, Lord… As I stand between confusion & my calling… I pray that You will bless me with readiness… Readiness to meet my fears & take advantage of the opportunities you give me to use the tools you have equipped me with… Thank You for Prayer, Praise, Thanksgiving, and Your Word which is Powerful & sharper than a two-edged sword… (Hebrews 4:12)
Lord, help me to be humble and to wear my spiritual armor every day, seeking You early each morning clothing myself in the Helmet of Salvation, Shoes of Peace, Breastplate of Righteousness, Sword of the Spirit, Shield of Faith and my Belt filled with Truth (Ephesians 6:10-8)…
Thank You, O God, for the Power to trample on Serpents & Scorpions and all the Authority over the Enemy that nothing shall by any means hurt me… Thank You for not giving me a Spirit of Fear, but of Power, Love and a Sound Mind, and Thank You that No Weapon Formed against me shall Prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Like a category 1 Hurricane in the eye of the storm… Let the Devil’s threats come to naught because Nothing shall by any means hurt us (Luke 10:19)
May we be Sober & Vigilant because our adversary, the Devil walks about like a roaring Lion seeking whom he may devour… resisting him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by our brotherhood in the world (1 Peter 5:8)
Humility cures worldliness… Therefore help me to submit to God, resist the Devil and he will flee from me… (James 4:7)
Give me courage, O God, and boldness to proclaim Your Word wherever I go so that I may experience good success & the Joy of the Lord which is my strength… (Nehemiah 8:10)
Help me to find rest in You.
In the name of Jesus… Amen”
Feel free to search the Scriptures that apply to your plight… and add to this prayer & pray & meditate on them repeatedly… Be vulnerable and share with the Lord and maybe a close confidant your situation… James 5 says to confess our faults to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed. The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous person availeth much…
Put your phone & TV on mute, put on your favorite praise and worship music... sing along and worship the Lord & do it daily… finally keep a track record of your many blessings you are grateful for from the air we breathe to being allowed to participate in each new day”
Once your lights are restored… be Grateful & give Glory to God… Examine yourself and Evaluate your situation… maybe through journaling… Look at the things that led up to your “disconnect” and take steps to do things differently next time to avoid another “Power Outage”…
Finally, share your experience… It’s really the key to Victory… Someone else may be in a situation where they can be encouraged by your witness… “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…” (Revelation 12:11)
Be encouraged… !!!
